�;.� EN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: January 11, 2010 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />FROM: Sue Iverson, Acting City Administrator <br />Finance Director/Treasurer <br />SUBJECT: Personnel Committee Discussion <br />Back�round <br />Council has requested staff to research and gather information on Personnel Committees <br />for discussion. <br />Discussion <br />Staff sent out a listsery and received responses from a number of cities. Vadnais Heights, <br />Mounds View, Mahtomedi, Victoria, Rockville, Monticello, and the Minnesota Valley <br />Transit Authority all responded to the request and have differing yet similar structures. <br />They all consist of two council members, the City Administrator/Manager/Executive <br />Director, and the other staff inembers vary depending on the structure and duties in each <br />city; they vary from Assistant City Administrator, �IR Director/Manager, or Finance <br />Director. The range of areas they address are: <br />1. Personnel policies and procedures. <br />2. Review ranges including cost-of-living/benefit increases. <br />3. Employee grievance procedures and administration. � <br />4. New positions. <br />5. Classifications of positions. <br />6.
