EN HILLS MEMORANDUM DATE: January 25, 2010 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members Sue Iverson, Acting City Administrator FROM: Greg Hoag, Public Works Director SUBJECT: 2010 Tree Removal Services Back�round At the January 12, 2009 City Council meeting, the City Council extended the original 2007 Tree Removal Services Agreement with Precision Tree and Landscape with no cost increase. At that meeting discussion was had that due to the current economy, it may have been a better option to solicit new quotes for 2009. In December 2009 staff did solicit new quotes for the 2010 agreement. Quotes were requested in twelve different categories. Four Companies submitted quotes. Precision Landscape and Tree provided the lowest quote in eight of the twelve categories. The quotes in these eight categories as well as one other are less than the costs for the same work in 2009. The remaining three categories while Precision Landscape and Tree did not provide the lowest quote, the quotes are the same as they were in 2009. City Staff has been very pleased with the service and responsiveness from Precision Landscape and Tree the past three years. Below is a summary comparison of the cost quotes for 2009 and 2010.
