<br />Subd. 144 Recreational Vehicles, Utility Trailers, Riding Lawn Mowers, and
<br />Watercraft, Length. The distance as measured from end to end of the recreational
<br />vehicle, utility trailer, or watercraft, including any hitch, motor, and covering, as
<br />stored. RVs and watercraft on a trailer shall be measured as one. Revisers February

<br />Subd. 145 Regional Flood. A flood which is representative of large flood known to
<br />have occurred generally in Minnesota and reasonably characteristic of what can be
<br />expected to occur on an average frequency in the magnitude of the 100 -year
<br />recurrence interval. Regional flood is synonymous with the term "base flood" used in
<br />the Flood Insurance Study.
<br />Subd. 146 Research. The use of any lot, parcel of land and any structure or building
<br />located thereon for the purposes of studying or investigating facts not readily
<br />available, such as, for example, medical, chemical, electrical, metallurgical, or other
<br />scientific research, but excluding the manufacture or processing of materials or goods
<br />for sale. Research with animals is considered a separate category.
<br />Subd. 147 Research animals. Animals kept in a laboratory setting for the purpose of
<br />testing and research related health care products.
<br />Subd. 148 Residential facility. Any facility, public or private, which for gain or
<br />otherwise, regularly provides one or more persons with a twenty-four (24) hours per
<br />day substitute for care, food, lodging, training, education, supervision, habilitation,
<br />rehabilitation and treatment they need, but which for any reason cannot be furnished
<br />in the person's own home, including but not limited to, state institutions under the
<br />control of the commissioner of public welfare, foster homes, residential treatment
<br />centers, maternity shelters, group homes, residential programs, or schools for handi-
<br />capped children.
<br />Subd. 149 Rest home. A private home for the care of the aged or infirm or place of
<br />rest for those suffering bodily, mental or emotional disorders. Such a home does not
<br />contain equipment for surgical care or for the treatment of disease or injury, nor does
<br />it include maternity, care for mental illnesses or infirmities-, includes nursing home.
