Dear Arden Hills Neighbors On Wednesday, February 3rd, at 6:30 p.m. the Planning Commission will be considering a change to the lake shoreline setback limits. The proposed change could eventually result in new houses in Arden Hills being built as close as 50 feet from the lake. The change being considered will have some unfavorable and irreversible effects. The lovely green space we have along our lakes will be diminished — in some areas by as much as a 50% reduction. Many of us will have our views to the lake blocked.. And there could be environmental damage, especially to the water quality of our lakes. Please consider joining us in opposing these changes that will damage our neighborhoods. If you would like to help, it would be best if you could attend the meeting in person and voice your opposition. . Other ways to voice opposition would be to doing any of the following.- Sign the attached letter or write your own (be sure to include your address). Since the meeting is this coming Wednesday, there is not enough time to mail a letter to the City Planner. It would be better to fax it (651-634-5137), e-mail it (Meagan.Beekman(c�ci.arden-hills.mn.us), or drop it off at the office of the City Planner in City Hall (1245 West Highway 96). • Call the office of the City Planner (651-792-7828) directly to say that you oppose the shareland setback requirement (specifically the "minus ten [10] feet" language in Section 1330.3, Subd 4) in the proposed amendment to the Zoning Code.
