January 30, 2010
Ms. Meagan Beekman, Planner
City of Arden Hills
1245 Highway 96 West
Arden Hills, Minnesota 55112
pP
Subject: Opposition to the Proposed Change to Shoreline Setback Requirements
.
Dear Ms. Beekman:
I am a resident of the City of Arden Hills residing at:
I am writingto express m concern over the proposed amendment to the Zoning Code for
p Y p p
shoreland setback requirements, specifically the "minus ten(10)-feet language in Section 1330.3
Subd.4.
1VI primary concern is that the proposed language will eventually allow new homes(or
YP Y p p g
additions to existing homes) to be built as close as 50 feet to the shore of the lake.
The current zoninghas created a consistent neighborhood character of green space and
environmental buffer along the lake. If the proposed amendment is adopted, those critically
important characteristics will be destroyed.
I encourage you to eliminate the "minus ten(10) feet" language from the proposed amendment.
g Y
Sincerely,
