HILLS EN <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2010-013 <br /> A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING STATE REPRESENTATIVE KATE KNUTH IN <br /> AUTHORING A BILL REQUESTING DECREASES IN THE SPEED LIMITS OF <br /> THE SECTIONS OF US HIGHWAY 10 AND TRUNK HIGHWAY 51 WITHIN <br /> THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS TO 50 M.P.H. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arden Hills is concerned for the safety and <br /> welfare of all persons using US Highway 10 and Trunk Highway 51. <br /> WHEREAS, the section of US Highway 10 contained within the City of Arden Hills, <br /> extending from the City border to County Highway 96, has an established speed limit of 55 <br /> M.P.H. <br /> WHEREAS, the section of US Highway 10 contained within the City of Arden Hills, <br /> extending from County Highway 96 to Interstate 694, has an established speed limit of 60 <br /> M.P.H. <br /> WHEREAS, all other sections of US Highway 10 have an established speed limit of 60 <br /> M.P.H. or greater. <br /> WHEREAS, the section of Trunk Highway 51, extending from Interstate 694 in the City <br /> of Arden Hills to Lydia Avenue in the City of Roseville, has an established speed limit of 55 <br /> M.P.H. <br /> WHEREAS, all other sections of Trunk Highway 51 have an established speed limit of <br /> 50 M.P.H. or lower. <br /> WHEREAS, Minnesota State Representative Kate Knuth has expressed support helping <br /> the City of Arden Hills in lowering the speed limits for portions of US Highway 10 and Trunk <br /> Highway 51 contained within the City for reasons of public safety. <br /> THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: The City Council hereby supports State <br /> Representative Kate Knuth in authoring a bill before the Minnesota House of Representatives <br /> requesting a decrease in the speed limit of the sections of US Highway 10 and Trunk Highway <br /> 51 within the City of Arden Hills to 50 M.P.H. <br />
