Parks,Trails&Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes February 23,2010 <br /> Page 7 <br /> and part of that design would have been putting in a trail along a section of County Road <br /> nd <br /> F. He feels that they will probably apply again the 2 half of this year. He stated it is <br /> relatively common for an application not to be approved the first time. Discussion <br /> ensued regarding the work force housing. Mr. Grant indicated that in order to rent this <br /> housing one needs to have a middle tier income level. He stated that Council did tour the <br /> facility in Maple Grove and it was very nice and designed for low maintenance. He feels <br /> this type of housing would be a way to put a diverse facility into Arden Hills and add <br /> some rental units. <br /> Council Liaison Grant mentioned the Park and Rec Shoreline Ordinance has been <br /> updated and can now be viewed online. He indicated that they tried to find a happy <br /> balance with the new ordinance that would still allow some flexibility people for le to add <br /> p <br /> on to the lake side but not allow them to build too close to the lake, blocking the <br /> neighbors' views. <br /> Council Liaison Grant mentioned that they are looking for a new City Administrator. He <br /> noted that there were approximately 120 applications so far and that over the course of <br /> the month they will continue that process. He does not think the will be at the point of a <br /> Y <br /> final selection until around April 1. <br /> B. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Report <br /> Ms. Olson that the Friends of the Parks—Ramsey County has announced a tree sale for <br /> 2010 where you can purchase a tree for your own yard or donate a tree to a park. She <br /> indicated this will be posted on the City s website and would list areas where the City <br /> could use some trees. She mentioned the trees are discounted and the deadline is April <br /> 17, 2010. <br /> Chair Peck asked if there was any interest in doing another park cleanup day. Ms. Olson <br /> indicated it would be in cooperation with RamseyCount 's day and that it would again <br /> Y Y g <br /> be at Tony Schmidt Regional Park. She indicated she would let them know at the next <br /> meeting what day in April it has been scheduled for. <br /> 6. NEXT MEETING—March 16,2010 <br /> Ms. Olson informed the members that Council scheduled an informational TCAAP meeting <br /> on April <br /> 20, the same day as their April PTRC meeting. She asked if they preferred to change the date of the <br /> PTRC meeting to the 4th week in April. Discussion ensured regarding the TCAAP meeting and it <br /> was agreed to change the date of the PTRC meeting to the 4th week in April. <br /> The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> 7. ADJOURNMENT <br /> MOTION: Committee Member Garretson motioned to adjourn and Committee Membe <br /> r <br /> er <br /> Straumann seconded. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m. <br />
