EN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: March 29, 2010 <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />FROM: Sue Iverson, Finance Director <br />Rebecca Brazys, Deputy Clerk <br />SUBJECT: Motion to authorize City Staff to begin summer work hours on May 17, 2010 <br />and conclude on September 3, 2010 <br />Overview <br />City staff is seeking City Council authorization to begin summer work hours on May 17, 2010 <br />and conclude on September 3, 2010. <br />Back�round <br />The City normally changes to summer hours after Memorial Day, however, last year summer <br />hours were instituted on May 18, 2009. The schedule enables extended hours of City services <br />for construction contractors and residents who have construction proj ects��� or other city <br />b�.sinesses. By starting before Memorial Day weekend, it provides two additional weeks of <br />extended hours, and would provide for a four hour work day on the Friday of Memorial Day <br />weekend. Staff proposes the following work hours for the summer of 2010. <br />Traditional Hours Pro osed Summer Hours <br />City Hall Staff 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br />Monday — Friday Monday — Thursday <br />7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. <br />on Friday <br />Maintenance Facility Staff 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />Monday — Friday Monday — Thursday <br />6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. <br />on Friday <br />Recommendation <br />Motion by the City Council to authorize City staff to begin summer work hours on May 17, 2009 <br />and conclude on September 3, 2010. <br />City of Arden Hills City Council Meeting for March 29, 2010 � <br />
