Ordinance 2010-008 <br />Subd. 207 Yard, minimum required. The minimum open space extending between a <br />minimum building setback line and the adjoining lot line in which a principle building <br />may not be placed and in which accessory buildings may only be placed as regulated in <br />this Code. <br />Subd. 208 Yard, rear. A yard extending across the full width of the lot and measured <br />between the rear line of the lot and the rear line of the main building. <br />Subd. 209 Yard, side. A yard between the building and the adjacent sideline of the lot <br />and extending from the front yard to the rear yard. <br />Subd. 210 Yard Area, required rear. The minimum required rear yard depth multiplied <br />by the average width of the total rear yard. <br />Subd. 211 Zoning map. The map or maps incorporated into this Code as a part hereof, <br />delineating the zoning districts. <br />Section 1335 — Flood Plains <br />1335.01 Statutory Authorization. The legislature of the State of Minnesota has, in Minnesota <br />Statutes Chapter 103F and Chapter 462 delegated the responsibility to local government units to <br />adopt regulations designed to minimize flood losses. Therefore, the City Council of the City of <br />Arden Hills, Minnesota does ordain as follows: <br />1335.02 Findings of Fact. <br />Subd. 1 Hazards Exist. The flood hazard areas of the City are subject to periodic <br />inundation which results in potential loss of life, loss of property, health and safety <br />hazards, disruption of commerce and governmental services, extraordinary public <br />expenditures or flood protection and relief, and impainnent of the tax base, all of which <br />adversely affect the public health, safety, and general welfare. <br />Subd. 2 Method Used to Analyze Flood Hazards. There regulations of this Section are <br />based upon a reasonable method of analyzing flood hazards which is consistent with the <br />standards established by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. <br />Subd. 3 National Flood Insurance Program Compliance. This Ordinance is adopted to <br />comply with the rules and regulations of the National Flood Insurance Program codified <br />as 44 Code of Federal Regulations Parts 59 -78, as amended, so as to maintain the <br />community's eligibility in the National Flood Insurance Program. <br />1335.03 Statement of Purpose. It shall be the purpose of this Section to promote the public health, <br />safety, and general welfare and minimize those losses described in Section 1335.02 Subd 1. <br />
