Hospital: An institution licensed by the state department of health, providing primary health <br /> services and medical or surgical care, to sick or injured persons,primarily inpatients. May <br /> include related facilities such as laboratories, outpatient facilities, or training facilities. <br /> Mineral Extraction: The use of land for surface or subsurface removal of sand, gravel,rock, <br /> industrial minerals, and other nonmetallic minerals not regulated under Minn. Stat. Chapts. 93.44 <br /> - 93.51; or Successor Statutes. Mineral extraction does not include grading and excavating as <br /> defined in this Chapter. <br /> Mortuary, Funeral Home: [to complete the various cemetery-related uses] An establishment <br /> engaged in undertaking services such as preparing the dead for burial and arranging and <br /> managing funerals,but not including a crematorium. <br /> Research and Development Facility: Establishments which conduct research, development, or <br /> controlled production of high technology electronic, industrial, or scientific products or <br /> commodities for sale; or establishments conducting educational or medical research or testing. <br /> May include limited accommodations for researchers or research subjects. Research with <br /> animals is considered a separate category. <br /> Residence Hall,Dormitory: A building designed for or used as group living quarters for <br /> students of a high school, college, university or seminary, organized and owned by a high school, <br /> college, university or seminary. <br /> Suggested Treatment of Warehouse Use: <br /> Warehousing, as defined in this Chapter, if located in the MB district, shall contain an office or <br /> retail component comprising at least 10% of the establishment's gross floor area. <br /> DRAFT:5/20/2010 9 <br />
