_. .. <br />_ __ <br />_ _... <br />_ .. __ <br />_.. _ _. . <br />_ ...... _ _ _ <br />_ <br />_. _ <br />_ <br />_ . . <br />_ <br />_. _ <br />EN �LL <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTIUN NO. 2010-029 <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE INCLUSION OF PEDESTRIAN FRIENDLY <br />INFRASTRUCTURE AS A PART OF THE INTERSTATE 694/TRUNK HIGHWAY 51 <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills is a community divided by many maj or roads, highways <br />and railroads; <br />WHEREAS, these transportation corridors provide excellent regional access and mobility, but <br />separate people from parks, businesses and neighborhoods; <br />WHEREAS, trail connections crossing over or under the major highways and railroads are <br />needed to tie the City together, create a comprehensive system of parks and trails, improve safety <br />and enhance the feeling of community; <br />WHEREAS, the City's 2030 Comprehensive Plan illustrates the vision for a comprehensive trail <br />network; <br />WHEREAS, the City's 2030 Comprehensive Plan encourages non-motorized transportation and <br />commuting in and outside of Arden Hills to reduce reliance on motor vehicles and increase <br />physical activity. <br />WHEREAS, building this network requires assistance from other agencies such as Mn/DOT and <br />Ramsey County; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Arden Hills supports the inclusion <br />of pedestrian friendly infrastructure as a part of the Interstate 694/Trunk Highway 51 <br />Improvement Proj ect. <br />
