DRAFT <br />No. 39. This includes, but is not limited to swamps, marshes, bogs, sloughs, wet <br />meadows, and shallow lakes and ponds with emergent vegetation. (Revised 02/22/10) <br /> <br />Subd. 217 Wetland alteration. Alteration of a wetland includes changes to the wetland <br />and/or wetland buffer strip in regards to size, depth or contour; dredging; tilling; <br />damming; alteration of the watercourse; ditching; tiling; grading; draining; discharge of <br />water; appropriation of water; changes in vegetation; or otherwise altering or destroying a <br />wetland or wetland buffer or their functions. Alterations would not include Native <br />Vegetation plantings or selective clearing or pruning of prohibited or restricted noxious <br />weeds, unless within a Drainage and Utility Easement in which case submission of and <br />written approval by the City is required. (Added 02/22/10) <br /> <br />Subd. 218 Wetland buffer strip. An area of vegetated ground cover around the perimeter <br />of a wetland that, either in its natural condition or through intervention, has the <br />characteristics of buffering the wetland from surrounding landscaping. (Added 02/22/10) <br /> <br />Subd. 219 Wetland delineation. An assessment tool utilized to determine the boundary <br />of a wetland using the US Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual <br />(January 1987) as well as any additional boundary determination requirements <br />established in Minnesota Rules Chapter 8420. A "Wetland Delineation Report" is a <br />document that summarizes the observations, results and conclusions performed during <br />the assessment when wetlands are present. (Added 02/22/10) <br /> <br />Subd. 220 Yard, front. A yard extending along the full length of the front lot line <br />between the side lot lines. <br /> <br />Subd. 221 Yard, minimum required. The minimum open space extending between a <br />minimum building setback line and the adjoining lot line in which a principle building <br />may not be placed and in which accessory buildings may only be placed as regulated in <br />this Code. <br /> <br />Subd. 222 Yard, rear. A yard extending across the full width of the lot and measured <br />between the rear line of the lot and the rear line of the main building. <br /> <br />Subd. 223 Yard, side. A yard between the building and the adjacent sideline of the lot <br />and extending from the front yard to the rear yard. <br /> <br />Subd. 224 Yard Area, required rear. The minimum required rear yard depth multiplied <br />by the average width of the total rear yard. <br /> <br />Subd. 225 Zoning map.
