ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL-July 13, 2009 2 <br /> Mayor Harpstead opened the public inquiries/informational at 7:04 p.m. <br /> Mr. Ken Hanzalik, 1768 Venus Avenue, Arden Hills, stated concerns about the <br /> stop sign that has been placed at the corner of Glenview Avenue and Dellview <br /> Avenue. He asked why the stop sign had been put in place. He stated that he has <br /> lived in the neighborhood for eighteen years and has never seen a need for a stop <br /> sign. The stop sign had not been discussed by the Council. He requested that the <br /> stop sign be removed. <br /> Mayor Harpstead stated that he would not be able to provide Mr. Hanzalik an <br /> answer at this time as the Council would need to discuss this. <br /> Councilmember Holmes stated that this stop sign had been previously discussed <br /> and it had been brought up that the City did not have a formal process for placing <br /> traffic signs. She stated that the Council should discuss this and until a process has <br /> been established and followed then the stop sign should not be in place. <br /> Mayor Harpstead asked if Councilmember Holmes would like to add this <br /> discussion under New Business in the Agenda. <br /> Councilmember Holmes stated that she had brought it up previously under <br /> Council Comments. <br /> Councilmember Holden stated that she had intended to bring this up for discussion <br /> during Council Comments later in the meeting. <br /> Mayor Harpstead deferred further discussion regarding this until the Council <br /> Comments section of the meeting. <br /> Councilmember Grant stated that as a procedural item all Stop signs and No <br /> Parking signs are supposed to come through Council, whether it is written or not. <br /> In order for these signs to be enforceable the City Council needs to approve them. <br /> This particular stop sign was not approved by the Council and it should be taken <br /> down. <br /> Mayor Harpstead closed the public inquiries/information at 7:08 p.m. <br /> A. TCAAP Update <br /> City Administrator Ronald Moorse stated that the City Council, the Army/GSA, <br /> and representatives from Representative McCollum's office and Senator <br />
