That portion of the flood plain outside of the floodway. <br /> Flood fringe is synonymous with the term "floodway fringe" used in the Flood Insurance <br /> Study for the City. <br /> Subd. 75Flood plain. The beds proper and the areas adjoining a wetland, lake or <br /> watercourse which have been or may be covered by the regional flood. <br /> !77Subd. 76Flood-proofing. A combination of structural provisions, changes, or <br /> adjustments to properties and structures subject to flooding, primarily for the reduction or <br /> elimination of flood damages. <br /> : Subd. 77Floodway. A wetland or lake and the channel of a watercourse and - <br /> those portions of the adjoining flood plain which are reasonably required to carry or store <br /> the regional flood discharge. <br /> . 79Subd. 78Floor area. The sum of the gross horizontal area of all floors of a <br /> building as measured in square feet from the exterior sides of the exterior walls, or from <br /> the centerline of party walls separating attached buildings, but not including covered <br /> porches that meet the requirements in Section 1325.03 Subd 2.1); decks; any space where <br /> the average floor-to-ceiling height is less than six feet; attached or detached garages; and <br /> Other detached accessory structures. <br /> b" --x Subd. 79Floor area ratio (F.A.R.). A building that is used or intended to be used for the <br /> storage of motor trucks, `truck trailers, tractors and commercial vehicles exceeding one- <br /> ton rated capacity. <br /> Subd. 84Grading and- Excavating.
