,---ARZEN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: September 13, 2010 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Michelle Olson, Parks and Recreation Manager <br /> SUBJECT: Celebrating Arden Hills Fall Festival <br /> CELEBRATING ARDEN HILLS—September 18th—3:00 p.m. to dusk <br /> Our City Fall Festival, "Celebrating Arden Hills" is set for September 18th from 3:00 p.m. <br /> until dusk. This year's event will have a dual track with activities being held both at Tony <br /> Schmidt Regional Park and Presbyterian Homes of Arden Hills. <br /> Tony Schmidt Regional Park is the "Swing into the Parks" portion of the event, which will <br /> have many of the old favorites such as the rock climbing wall, community booths, Mad <br /> Science presentation, as well as Shoreview Northern Lights Variety Band to play through <br /> the fireworks at dusk! New activities this year include: Hay rides, K-9 and other sheriff <br /> demos, bungee trampoline event, miniature golf, antique cars and public trucks on display, <br /> p p Y, <br /> and much more! Highlighting the NEW trail connection from Perry Park to Tony Schmidt <br /> Regional Park will be a pedicab — a bicycle cab. All activities with the exception of the <br /> concessions are free of charge! <br /> Presbyterian Homes is the "Fling into the Arts" portion of the event, which will offer an <br /> Art Display featuring local artist's work. Tours of their beautiful gardens are available and <br /> their gardeners will give helpful tips on keeping your garden green all season long. Music <br /> g g <br /> and dancing will highlight the event featuring the Mounds View High School Orchestra <br /> followed by the Resistors, a show band that involves the audience in ballroom dancing and <br /> much more! Guests will also be able to catch a pontoon ride from Presbyterian Homes to <br /> Tony Schmidt Regional Park and back! <br /> Parking will be limited at both venues. Lake Johanna Blvd will remain open <br /> throughout the event; however, there will be LIMITED parkin available in Tony <br /> Y <br /> Schmidt Regional Park. Near the park, Lake Johanna Blvd. (south side) and County <br /> Road E will be available for on street parking. At Presbyterian Homes, overflow <br /> parking is available at Sutton Place on County Road D and Cleveland and on both <br /> sides of Lake Johanna Boulevard.
