EN HILLS <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />PARKS, TRAILS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br />TUESDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2010 <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chair Peck called the October 19, 2010, meeting of the Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee to <br />order at 6:37 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair John Peck, Committee Members Harold Petersen, Steve Scott, Rich <br />Straumann, Nancy O'Malley and Cindy Garretson. <br />OTHERS PRESENT: Park and Recreation Manager Michelle Olson, Council Liaison Back -Up <br />Brenda Holden, and Guest Phil Kramlinger, Council Liaison David Grant. <br />MEMBERS NOT PRESENT/EXCUSED: Committee Member Jody Hilgers. <br />1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />MOTION: Committee Member Scott motioned and Committee Member O'Malley seconded a <br />motion to approve the agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously. <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES — September 21, 2010 <br />MOTION: Committee Member Petersen indicated his name should also be included in the first <br />sentence of 4.B. and the word "included" should be added at the end of the 2 line of <br />S.A. <br />Committee Member Scott motioned to approve the September 21, 2010 minutes as <br />amended seconded by Committee Member Petersen. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Elmer L. Andersen Memorial Trail Ceremony Recap <br />Ms. Olson reported the Elmer L. Andersen Memorial Trail Ceremony was well attended <br />and felt everyone was pleased with the signs and the landscaping. She informed the <br />committee that the Elmer L. Andersen family donated the funding for the landscaping. <br />Ms. Olson mentioned that resident Sharon O'Brien had been under the misconception the <br />City did not need residents to help maintain the gardens. She has stated that she is <br />willing to help with the Cleveland and Glenpaul gardens. Backup Council Liaison <br />Holden suggested Ms. Olson pull the list of prior volunteers in case they also had the <br />same misconception. <br />
