SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
APRIL 10,2010
9:00 A.M. -ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL
CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Stan Harpstead called to order the City
Council meeting at 9:00 a.m.
Present: Mayor Stan Harpstead; Council Members David Grant, Brenda Holden,
Fran Holmes, and David McClung.
Absent: None.
Also present: Acting City Administrator/Finance Director, Susan Iverson; Consultant,
Richard Fursman.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION: Mayor Harpstead moved and Councilmember McClung seconded a motion to
approve the meeting agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously
1. AGENDA ITEMS
A. City Administrator,Recruitment
Mr.Fursman gave a report on the candidate background checks.
Council discussed the candidates and ranked them.
MOTION: Mayor Harpstead moved and Councilmember Grant seconded a motion to
direct the Personnel Committee with the City Attorney,
oruey, Jerry Filla, to
negotiatc with Anne Hurlburt for the position of City Administrator. The
motion carried (4-1,McClung-Nav).
Direction was given to the Personnel Committee on negotiation parameters.

2. COUNCIL COMMENTS AND REQUESTS
Councilmember Grant reported on audio visual problems when he filled in as the liaison for the
Planning Commission. He requested that staff get pricing on new equipment and report back at the April or May worksession.

Councilmember Holmes stated that they had started cutting trees on the Safe Routes to School
project and that we may get some residents calling about the trees that are being cut down.
ADJOURN
MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Councilmember Holden seconded a
motion to ad'ourn. The motion carried unanimous) 5-0 .
Mayor Harpstead adjourned the City Council meeting at 11:04 a.m.
