SUBJECT: Community Development Director promotion
BACKGROUNDIDISCUSSION
The City currently has a vacancy in the Community Development Director position. This
posiiion xs responsible for managing the activities of the Communrty Develaprnent Department;
which includes plaru�.ing, building inspection, code enforcement, and economic development.
rames Lehnhoff, the current Cirty Planner, has dernonstrated the knowledge, skills, and leadership
ability needed to succeed in the Community Development Director position. It is recommended
that James Lehnhoff be promoted to the position of Coznznuniiy Developrnent Director effective
August 26, 2008, and that his salary be set at $70,534, which is step 1 of Level 11 af �he City's
compensation plan.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION
