CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MEETING
FEBRUARY 12, 2011
8:00 A.M. - ARDEN HILLS COMMUNITY ROOM
CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor David Grant called to order the City
Council Work Session meeting at 8:05 a.m.
Present: Mayor David Grant, Councilmembers Brenda Holden, Fran Holmes, Ed
Werner, and Nick Tamble.
Absent: None.
Also present: City Administrator Patrick Klaers, Public Works Director Terry Maurer,
Finance Director Sue Iverson, Community Development Director Jill Hutmacher, and
Facilitator Bill Joynes from Midwest Government Advisors,
DISCUSSION ITEMS
Bill Joynes distributed his Preliminary Report of the individual Council/Staff Interviews that were
held between January 20 and February 3, 2011. The report identified eight City issues (including
one miscellaneous category)that the Council and Staff wanted to discuss and prioritize. --
It was the consensus of the Council that they should discuss the TCAAP site and the stadium
option first. This consensus of the Council was based on pending action by Ramsey County
Board of Commissioners on a proposed stadium/TCAAP site resolution that will be on their
February 15 meeting agenda.
Bill Joynes led the Council and Staff through a stadium and TCAAP site brainstorming exercise.
At the end of the discussion, the Council agreed to monitor the County Board's action on
February 15 and noted that they may take action on a resolution supporting further study of the
stadium proposal at their February 28, 2011 City Council meeting.
