City sta�f is seeking City Council authorization to begin surr�er woxk hours on May 16, 2011
and conciude on Septeznber 2, 20ll.
Back�round
For zrzaxxy years, the Ci�y changed its hours to "summer hours" after Memorial Day. The �ummer
hours schedule enables extended hours of City services for construction contractors and residents
who have construction projec�s o� oiher city business. In 2009, the City began to authorize
summer hours in mid-May to provide additional e�tend�d hours and to provide far a�our haur
work da on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. As a referen.ce, surntner hours began on
May 1 St�in 2009 and May l 7�" in 2010.
