HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-07-11-S ,-AIZEN HILLS Approved: March 14, 2011 CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 7,2011 6:00 PM-ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor David Grant called to order the Special City Council meeting at 6:00 p.m. Present: Mayor David Grant; Councilmembers Brenda Holden, Ed Werner, and Nick Tamble. Councilmember Holmes arrived at 6:05 p.m. Absent: None Also Present: City Administrator Patrick Klaers, Public Works Director Terry Maurer, Director of Finance and Administrative Services Sue Iverson, and City Attorney Jerry Filla, and Bill Joynes, Midwest Government Advisors. 1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Councilmember Tamble seconded a motion to approve the agenda as presented. The motion carried _ unanimously (4-0.) 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Mayor Grant seconded a motion to approve the JanuaKy 19 2011 Special City Council Meeting minutes as presented. The motion carried unanimously (4-0). ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—February 7, 2011 2 3. EXECUTIVE SESSION Council adjourned to a closed Executive Session at 6.02 p.m. to discuss litigation of files CV 10- 6972 and CV 10-9501, as stated by City Attorney Jerry Filla, and the union contract with Consultant Bill Jaynes. _ Council reopened the meeting at 7:10 p.m. 4. NEW BUSINESS A. Senator Goodwin Meeting Public Works Director Maurer and City Administrator Klaers reviewed with the City Council the current status of the I-694/TH51 discussions with Mn/DOT. A meeting is being hosted by Senator Goodwin with Mn/DOT, the City, Ramsey County, and Representative Knuth on Wednesday, February 9. The goal is to have Mn/DOT and the City reach agreement on various parts of the project that are in dispute so that Municipal Consent can be given and so that the Appeal process can be halted. The Council also reviewed the options for a 3rd member of the Appeals Board and gave feedback to Staff to pass on to the City's representative, Stan Harpstead. B. Staff Updates City Administrator Klaers recommended the use of the Building Fund for the purchase of fiberglass and the Council concurred. 5. COUNCIL COMMENTS Councilmember Holmes suggested that the City put its TCAAP talking points on the City website. ADJOURN MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved seconded by Councilmember Werner a motion to ad'ourn. The motion carried unanimous) 5-0 .
