�UBJECT: 2012 Budget Calendar
Back�round
Each year the City Administrator is to submit a budget io t�e City Council. The Cour�cil
then adopts a prelizx�znary budget and levy to certify to the county by September 15� of
each year. Once this pxel�minary Ievy is set, it cannot be increased — but may be
decreased. A final budget and �evy are adopted by the City Council az�d certifed to the
county by laie December each year. By statute, the City Council is legaliy required to
adopt budgets for the general fund and all special revenue funds.
Discussian
In order to start the budget process, a budget calendar needs to be appxaved by the
council. Attached is a draft copy for counci� approval.
