1. The 1972 Board of Appeals was named: Robert Woadburn (Chairaian)� Richsrd Bartsah and
Harald Bradford.

although r�taining the possibility of deleting Amb1e Rd. �otal estimmte is appraximately`

3. Aiscussion of the possibility of ext�ndin� WaCer s�rvice we�t on His�hwsv 96__fro�_H�n1�ne
Avenue highlighted the fsct that Federal property may not be assesaed. Since the north
side of,,95 is Federally owc�ed, any such water lina could result in heavier Lhan.normal
assessments against reetdents on the sauth side and/or a disproportionate genera�, taxY�
against the VilZage. Village Attorney was a�ked to �.nvestigate possibility of a de-
ferred assessment against Federal praperCy which could ba levi�d should the praperty errex
be sold Co private parties.

6. The owner of several e�.�ns �Ln the area receatl�r aanexed £ram New Brisrhton is being informed
that since �teey do not meet Arden Hi11s size apecificati�ns, they can,nqt be licensed and
muat be.taken down. ,
7. Aitho�sgh the requested extensign_of water service weat on Hi�hway 95 to Arden Manor does
not appear financially feasible�at this time, further study wi11 be undextaken on aJ.ternate
methods af as�sessing.

A numbex of news articles from the M�nnespalis �ribune relating to highway noise �nd its
e�fect on HUA f�nancing and noise standaxds wexe p�resented to the Copnnisaian. HUD -
Noi�e Assessment Guidelines were diacussed and the sound was me�sured at the intersection
of Countv � and Snellinr� Avenue at 4:30 P.M. After discussion the Couaniasion recoa3me�.ded
that the Counci,l reconsider the installat�on of a traff ic si�nal at the interaection_of..
Highway 5Z and Snelling and �Hatnline Avenues because the installation coul.d develop sn
i.ncreased noise problem. It also reco�ended that the Councii request the Hi�hway Devart-
ment to study the noise leveis at the inters�ction and the implicatia�.s i.f a traffic
signal is insta�l�ed as compared with a reducti.an nf speed and/or add�.tional signs.
