SUBJECT: Ramsey County Sheriff Matt Bostrom
Background/Discus sion
Sheriff Matt Bostrom has asked to be on this work session agenda. Sheriff Bostrom has
indicated that he just wants to keep the communication lines open between the Sheriffs
Department and the City, and that he is looking forward to a good conversation with the
City Council regarding how things are going in Arden Hills. Sheriff Bostrom was last at
an Arden Hills City Council meeting on January 31, 2011.
Arden Hills is one of seven municipal jurisdictions that contract with the County for
police services. The other members of the contracted cities group are: Vadnais Heights,
Little Canada, White Bear Township, Gem Lake, Shoreview, and North Oaks. All seven
jurisdictions combined equate to a population of 74,000 and 56 square miles. Arden Hills
joined the group in 1980. There has been no change in membership of the contracted
cities since 1990. Attached is a map showing the contracted cities group.
