SUBJECT: TCAAPIStadi�� Update
Back�round/Discussion
Since the last update to the City Council on Monday, October 17, 2011, at least the
follawing has happen�d:
• the Governor has met with NFL executives
• the Governor has met with the Viicings
� the Governor has met with Ramsey County
• the Governor has met wi.th business representatives about a casino on Block E in
Minneapalis
• the Governor has stated that he intends to have his own recommendation,
including hxs posiiion on the site and financing, ready by November 7
• Congresswoman B�tty McCollum has issued a Press Release on ihe progr�ss
being rnade with transferring the land from the Army to the County
The Siadiuzn Proposal has been very newsworthy. There will lik�ly be more
deve�apments �o report by the time o� Monday's Council work session. The key issues
continue to be sources for the state fiznding share and a referendum in Ramsey County far
the sales tax.
At this time, the Governor has not changed his position on calling a November 21-23
special session of the State Legisiature to consider a stadium bill.
An update on the most c�rrent stadium proposal developments will be given ta the
Council on Monday evening.
