SUBJECT: Stadium Resolution Discussion
Background/Discussion
The last City Council meeting was on October 24, 2011, apd a considerable amount has
happened on tlie Stadium issue over the last 2%-3 weeks. It made sense for the City to consider a
resolution of support for the stadium ;proposal when everyone thought that the Governor was
going to present his stadium recommendation on November 7 and call a special session of the
State Legislature for November 21-23. At the last work session the Council discussed that the
City's position should be "on the record" if the Legislature was going to consider Arden Hills as
a possible stadium site.
As we all know, the Governor has not made a stadium recommendation and the special session
has been put on hold. Therefore, staff is looking for Council direction on a possible resolution of
support for the stadium proposal.
