Staff would like feedback on whether the special work sessions scheduled for February 13, February 27,
and March 12 are workable and acceptable.

SUBJECT: Schedule for Future Special Work Sessions
Backszround/Discussion
There are a lot of work session agenda topics that need to get in front of the Council for
discussion and I need to review with the Council the possibility of having special work
sessions either before or after regular City Council meetings.
The first item to note is elections. Originally, Ramsey County Elections Manager Joe Mansky
was scheduled for a special work session on January 30th but he had a conflict and had to
cancel. This was "OK" as it allowed staff to put Goals on the January 30th special work
session agenda but also meant that we had to find time for an election discussion in March.
Depending on Council feedback, the meeting schedule for the rest of the winter season is
starting to look like the following:
January 30 5:30 pm special work session on City Goals and a few
miscellaneous updates (like this topic)
7:00 pm regular City Council meeting
February 13 5:30 pm special work session on a development proposal (3
minutes) and on the roles/responsibilities of City
Liaisons (per City Goal #6 from the 2011 plan)
7:00 pm regular City Council meeting
February 21 5:00 pm regularly scheduled work session:
(Tuesday) 5:00-6:30 - discussion on Arden Hills EDA
6:30-8:00 -joint meeting with PTRC

I need to get Council feedback on if the special work sessions scheduled for February 13,
February 27, and March 12 are workable and acceptable.
