SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
DECEMBER 19, 2011
5:00 PM -ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS
CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor David Grant called to order the City
Council Work Session meeting at 5:00 p.m.
Present: Mayor David Grant; Councilmembers Nick Tamble and Ed Werner.
Absent: Councilmembers Brenda Holden and Fran Holmes
Also present: City Administrator Patrick Klaers; Director of Finance and Administrative
Services Sue Iverson; Public Works Director Terry Maurer; Community Development
Director Jill Hutmacher; City Planner Meagan Beekman; Parks & Recreation Manager
Michelle Olson; and Deputy Clerk Rebecca Brazys.
1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION: Councilmember Tamble moved and Councilmember Werner seconded the
motion to approve the Agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously (3-
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. Claims and Payroll
B. Approve the Job Description for Assistant City Engineer.
Approve the position of Assistant City Engineer in Grade 10 of the City's
Compensation System.
Direct staff to start the hiring process for the Assistant City Engineer.
C. Authorize entering into an agreement with Elfering and Associates for the field
location of ponds and inlets/outlets and adding these to the City GIS map on an hour
basis not to exceed$24,000.
MOTION: Councilmember Werner moved and Mayor Grant seconded the motion to
approve the Consent Agenda as presented and authorize execution of all
necessary documents contained therein. Motion carried unanimously (3-0).

• MOTION: Mayor Grant moved and Councilmember Tamble seconded a motion to
adiourn. The motion carried unanimously (3-0)
Mayor Grant adjourned the Special City Council meeting at 5:04 p.m.
