SUBJECT: Hill Capital Strategies, Inc., Update
Background/Discussion
At the last City Council Work Session, I received direction to contact Todd Hill regarding
options for revising the Consulting Contract that the City has with Hill Capital Strategies. As
you know, the purpose of the contract is to assist us in promoting Arden Hills as the best site for
the Stadium Proposal. Todd has set up numerous meetings with key Legislators that the City
could not have set up without his contacts. The recent e-mail from Todd highlights his
connection with key Legislators; whereby Senator Rosen has no interest in meeting with Arden
Hills representatives, but she still visited with Todd for a substantial amount of time discussing
the Stadium issue. While the Stadium Proposal is still alive, the City may also want to consider
having discussions with Legislators about funding far the acquisition and cleanup of the TCAAP
site and about the need to address regional transportation issues even if the Stadium Proposal
does not go to Arden Hills. This would be another good reason to keep Todd working on behalf
of the City.
Todd Hill and I have exchanged voice messages and I expect that we will make contact very
soon. I plan to have an update for the City Council for the Monday night work session; but I
have nothing specific to report at this time (Friday morning).
