SUBJECT: Guidant Foundation Request

Overview
® Last week Dave Reimer, Guidant Director of Facilities, contacted staff and indicated that the
Guidant Foundation was interested in the possibility of funding a bandshell/performance pavilion
somewhere in the metro area where Guidant has a presence. In addition, they are interested in
funding a summer concert series. At that point, Dave requested that we review any options that
might be available in Arden Hills so a preliminary proposal could be presented to the Foundation
for discussion purposes. In response, staff has prepared some preliminary information for
Council discussion/direction. In particular, staff has done the following:
➢ Evaluated other bandshells in the area
➢ Identified potential sites where the bandshell could be located
Examples of other bandshells/performance pavilions and possible sites are outlined in the
attached PowerPoint presentation.
