Meeting opened at 8:04 a.m.
Senior Planner Matthew Bachler stated that there was an absence of a quorum of EDC
Commissioners. He noted that no motions or voting would occur until a quorum was recognized.

Deputy Clerk Jolene Trauba administered the Oath of office to Commissioner Sheila Bennett
Kilander.
Senior Planner Matthew Bachler noted that the City is working with WSB to complete a
planning and economic development study regarding higher education uses. The EDC is f-
-• to review components of that study. At this meeting WSB will review land and buildin•
space available in the commercial and industrial districts of the City.

WSB Senior Planner Eric Zweber discussed the various commercial and industrial districts in
the City, and the amount of land and the total square footage of buildings available within each
business and industrial zone.
Discussion ensued regarding marketing of the Gateway property located at 1-694 and 1-35W ani
what uses would be most advantageous to the City. Also discussed were zones that could
potentially be modified to allow other uses.
B. State of the City
Senior Planner Bachler stated that the City Council discussed the EDC's recommendation of
changing the venue to the Tavern Grill and agreed to the location. The Council asked that the
morning event be held on September 28 and the evening event on October 3. Staff contacted the
Tavern Grill and found they are available to host the morning event. There will be no rental fee,
and they will serve breakfast for approximately $5 per person.
Senior Planner Bachler also noted that advertising for the event will be very similar to last year,
and the City is in process of hiring_a Communications Coordinator who will be involved in the
marketing process.
C. Business Retention and Expansion PrograiM
it was noted that Commissioners Williams and O'Meara visited IntriCon and felt it was a
productive meeting. Senior Planner Bachler will send an email to see if anyone needs help
scheduling interviews.

Council Liaison McClung stated the Council had a meeting with the Ramsey County Traffic
Engineer to discuss upcoming projects.
Senior Planner Bachler mentioned that Health Partners' request for an 8,000 square foot addition
to their clinic on Northwoods Drive was approved at the May 22 City Council meeting.
Construction is expected to begin this summer.

Senior Planner Bachler verified that all committee members received their invitation to thio
yearly Appreciation Picnic and reminded them to RSVP.
The meeting closed at 9:30 a.m.
