The following items summarize feedback obtained from the PTRC: Arden Hills 2040 Comprehensive Plan – Park and Trails Report The following items will be reviewed and if applicable revised: · WSB to confirm whether three or four parks are planned for development within TCAAP. · WSB to revise section 9.4.1 Park Renovations and upgrades to reflect feedback provided from the PTRC for each of the city parks. · WSB to revise table 9.1 to reflect current amenities at Valentine Park. · WSB to revise Highway 96 recommended trail and crossing improvements. Johanna Marsh Park Concept Plans Three concept plans were presented and reviewed by the PTRC. Following discussion, the PTRC identified Concept 1 – Central Node as the preferred concept. WSB to provide a cost estimate reflecting the improvements provided by the preferred concept. MEMORANDUM DATE: November 21, 2017 TO: Parks Trails and Recreation Committee FROM: Sara Knoll, Parks and Recreation Coordinator SUBJECT: Floral Park Update – Dr. Bob Mullin Background The Floral Park Gardens received another upgrade this year from Dr. Bob Mullin and the many volunteers. Bob will be joining us tonight to give us and update on what he and the volunteers have been doing at the park. I would like to thank Bob and the volunteers for all their hard work at Floral Park this year. Attachment: Map – provided by Bob Mullin MEMORANDUM DATE: November 21, 2017 TO: Parks Trails and Recreation Committee FROM: Sara Knoll, Parks and Recreation Coordinator SUBJECT: 2017 Johanna Marsh Playground Equipment Update Background The PTRC Committee and staff reviewed the comments that were submitted from the residents of the Johanna Marsh neighborhood WSB provided the PTRC Committee with some concept drawings of optional viewing areas for Johanna Marsh. Plans were reviewed by the PTRC Committee and a concept design was chosen as the top choice. Due to the cost of the project the City Council and City Staff have decided to move forward with the play structure only at this time. The playground equipment was ordered through Minnesota/Wisconsin playgrounds and the City of Arden Hills received a grant for $31,786.00 to help with the cost. The playground equipment that was purchased is scheduled to be installed this spring. Cummings Park and Freeway Park are scheduled to be replaced in 2018. There will be a lot of projects that will be on the PTRC agenda for 2018. What are some goals you would like to see accomplished in 2018? Requested Action Please bring a list of ideas to the PTRC Meeting for discussion.
