Attachment: Memorandum of Understanding – TCAAP Park Standards MEMORANDUM DATE: October 16, 2018 TO: Parks Trails and Recreation Committee FROM: Sara Knoll, Parks and Recreation Coordinator SUBJECT: Civic Site Task Force Site Options and Updates Background The Civic Task Force met with the Arden Hills City Council, Alatus and HGA to discuss different options that have been discussed for the civic site in Rice Creek Commons. Three options were presented by HGA that included the following: Meeting/gathering spaces, conference rooms, performance space, senior activity space, art classroom, program offices, event space, restaurant/café, single court gymnasium, kids’ gymnasium/multipurpose gym, and a wellness studios. Committee Members Paul Beggin, and John Van Valkenburg (Rich Straumann – Alternate) have been attending the Civic Site Task Force meetings and will give us an update of what has been discussed. A handout will be provided at the meeting. MEMORANDUM DATE: October 16, 2018 TO: Parks Trails and Recreation Committee FROM: Sara Knoll, Parks and Recreation Coordinator SUBJECT: Floral Park Gardens and Hazelnut Park Monarch Waystation Background Sara met with Bob Mullin and Mike Noonan to discuss the needs at the Floral Park Gardens and the Hazelnut Park Monarch Waystation. Sara was able to order some more seeds and bulbs with the generous donation from Dan Dietz and Graco. Bob and Mike were both excited to get the seeds and bulbs ordered so they can put some in this fall and early spring. The Arden Hills Public Works Department will be clearing an area west of the Hazelnut Park walking trail so Mike can plant some milkweed and other pollinator friendly plants. The City of Arden Hills would like to establish a Community Garden Club made up of Arden Hills residents. Residents would help maintain the rain gardens in Arden Hills, volunteer at the gardens in Arden Hills Parks (Floral, Hazelnut, Cummings etc.) and educate the public on what the Community Garden Club would focus on. If you know any residents who would be interested please let Sara know. Attachment: Floral Park Garden Pictures       Floral Park Gardens
