Council Chambers Conference Room, Arden Hills City Hall CALL MEETING TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL The meeting was called to order by David Radziej at 5:55 pm. MEMBERS PRESENT: David Radziej; Arlene Mitchell; Brenda Holden, Council Liaison MEMBERS NOT PRESENT: Katy Peters OTHERS PRESENT: Gayle Bauman, Finance Director Call to Order 1. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Motioned: David Radziej Seconded: Arlene Mitchell 2. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Motioned: Arlene Mitchell Seconded: David Radziej 3. NEW BUSINESS A. Review of Health Insurance Renewal Options Finance Director Bauman went through the renewal packet with the Committee members. PEIP was the least expensive option and a lot of the discussion was on that plan. One of the items that needs to be decided is if the City went with PEIP, would they offer all three plans (Advantage, Value and HSA) or just one of them. Need to follow up on what clinics are available to the employee that lives in Wisconsin. Started discussion on City contribution and what the options were. Need to arrive at something that is fair for both the employee and the City. The Committee members wanted more time to review all the information they received and set a follow up meeting for Monday, October 29, 2018 at 4 pm. The Committee didn’t feel comfortable making a recommendation regarding the wage part of the Compensation Study, they only want to deal with the benefit side. Suggested that maybe the consultant come back and make a presentation to the Council if staff can’t do it. Not sure if any changes need to be made as wages were looked at 2-3 years ago and nothing significant came up in this study. 4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5. COMMITTEE COMMENTS 6. ADJOURNMENT Motioned: Arlene Mitchell at 7:00 p.m. Seconded: David Radziej __________________________________ __________________________________ David Radziej, Chair Gayle Bauman, Finance Director
