Background/Discussion
At their September 23, 2019 meeting, the City Council approved WSB’s professional services
agreement to study school related traffic on Lake Valentine Road adjacent to Mounds View High
School. At that meeting, the City Council requested a meeting with WSB to provide input prior to
compiling the information and making a formal recommendation. WSB has completed its initial data
collection and will be presenting the following information to Council:
x Background of the study
x Our data collection efforts
x Findings from our data and field observation
x Issues and constraints
x Potential opportunities (alternatives) for improving the circulation and safety
Process
This meeting, as requested by Council, is intended to be an initial discussion and allow for the Council to
provide input prior to WSB completing the study and making a recommendation. Following the workshop
discussion, WSB will then study and review potential opportunities (alternatives) taking into account the City
Council feedback. WSB will then select the most feasible alternative and make a formal recommendation to
the City Council for approval.
