HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-017 ,- IQEN HILLS CITY OF ARDEN HILLS COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2009-017 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING FEDERAL SURFACE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM FUNDING APPLICATION SUBMITTAL FOR THE COUNTY ROAD E PEDESTRIAN/BICYCLE OVERPASS OF SNELLING AVENUE (TH 51). WHEREAS, the City Council authorized City Staff at its regular meeting on May 26, 2009 to apply for Federal Transportation Funding through the Surface Transportation Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills proposes to construct a pedestrianibicycle overpass of Snelling Avenue (TH 51) and adjacent sidewalks/trails to connect to existing sidewalks/trails which currently terminate at the County Road E bridge; and • WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills approved a 2030 Comprehensive Plan, which includes construction of the proposed pedestrian/bicycle overpass; and WHEREAS, the improvement will benefit the City of Arden Hills, Ramsey County, Mn/DOT, nearby universities, and local businesses; and WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills accepts responsibility for an amount equal or greater than 20 percent of the eligible project construction and right-of-way acquisition costs, together with the cost for design, administration, and peripheral project costs; and WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills is committed to the operation and maintenance of the proposed pedestrian/bicycle overpass year-round; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: The City of Arden Hills supports the application for Federal Transportation Funding through the Surface Transportation Program for the County Road E pedestrian/bicycle overpass of Snelling Avenue (TH 51) and is committed to completing this project if funding is provided. \\Metro-inet\ardenhills\Admin\Council\Resolutions\2009\2009-017,Reslution Supporting Application for STP Funds for County Road E pedestrian bridge.doc • ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDE THIS 8TH DAY OF JUNE 2009.
