RESOLUTION NO. 2020-046
RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE PROGRAM PARAMETERS AND
REOPEN THE APPLICATION SUBMITTAL PERIOD FOR SMALL
BUSINESS EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the federal and state governments have provided federal financial assistance
through the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to Minnesota
cities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, The funds are now available and the City is required
to expend all of its funds by November 15, 2020, and;
WHEREAS, one of the eligible costs for use of the federal funding is to provide financial
assistance to local businesses that have been financially impacted by the pandemic, and;
WHEREAS, the City Council at its August 24, 2020 meeting approved establishing a
small business emergency assistance grant program to provide financial assistance to its local
businesses in accordance with CARES Act funding and guidelines, and;
WHEREAS, the approved programs parameters has a minimum employment of three
employees, and;
WHEREAS,the application submittal period is set to close on Friday,September 25,2020,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden
Hills, Minnesota, that:
1. The approved programs parameters shall be revised to remove the minimum employment
criteria.
2. The Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program application submittal period
shall be reopened starting Tuesday, September 29 through Tuesday, October 6, 2020 to
allow businesses with less than three (3) employees the ability to apply.
