City Council Recognizes Senator Isaacson and Representative Moller
it is responsible for that portion of

In recognition of their diligent
service to the City, Certificates of
Appreciation were presented by the
City Council to both Isaacson and
Moller who attended the meeting
remotely.
New Perspectives Senior Living Breaks Ground
The New Perspective Senior
Living facility, located at 3565
Pine Tree Drive, had their ground
breaking ceremony on October
13. Elected officials in attendance
included Mayor David Grant,
Councilmember Fran Holmes and
State Representative Kelly Moller.
Sitework is underway on the 140+
unit senior living facility, which
will have amenities such as three
dining venues, a warm-water pool,
dance hall, café/pub, and many
more! Welcome to Arden Hills!
A Truth-in-Taxation Hearing is
scheduled for Monday, December
13 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
The 2022 General Fund
expenditure budget is proposed at
$5,279,450. The preliminary tax
levy increase is set at 4.5%, which
equates to a tax levy of $4,472,680.
Based on preliminary values, the
city’s share of property taxes
would increase by $46 annually
on a median valued home, which
is projected to value $384,600 in
2022. The proposed levy increase
goes to support increases in Public
Safety contracts, increases in
property insurance, and a decrease
in building permit revenue.

Senator Jason Isaacson (District
42) and State Representative
Kelly Moller (District 42A) at its
October 25, 2021 City Council
meeting.
Senator Isaacson and
Representative Moller were
instrumental in the City obtaining
$500,000 of legislative funding for
the watermain replacement along
Lexington Avenue. This project
coincides with the County’s
reconstruction of Lexington
Avenue in 2022, since the City
owns the utilities under the road

Follow the Snow Plow Policy
The City’s Public Works
Department works to provide safe
driving conditions for residents
while balancing costs of snow and
ice control. Street plowing typically
begins when 2 inches of snow have
accumulated. Plows will get as
close as possible to mailboxes, but the cleaning for access to the mailboxes
and fire hydrants is up to residents. Place trash and recycle cans behind the
curb as this lets operators plow the entire roadway. Do not park vehicles on
the street after the accumulation of two or more inches of snow until after
plowing has been completed. And as a reminder, parking is not allowed on
any city street between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. year-round.
Parks & Recreation Holiday Events
Gingerbread House Making will be held Saturday, December 11, 10:00
a.m. - 11:30 a.m. in the Community Room at City Hall, followed by
Holiday Gift Making fom Noon - 1:30 p.m. The cost is $20 for each class.
Parents can drop off their children for both classes with a bag lunch and
enjoy some free time!

City Ice Rink and Warming House Hours
Get your skates sharpened! Public Works will
soon be hard at work getting the city’s ice rinks
ready for skaters. Rink opening is planned for
December 6, pending weather conditions.
Freeway, Hazelnut and Perry Park’s ice rink
and warming house hours:
Monday – Friday 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A temporary structure warming house will be
placed at Hazelnut Park.
Cummings Park warming house hours:
Monday – Thursday (Warming house will not be open.)
Friday 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
(A push button light will be available to light the rink.)

Lodging Tax Ordinance to
update language due to an
agreement with the Twin
Cities Gateway Visitor
Bureau to implement a
hotel/lodging tax on hotel
rooms beginning in 2022.
• Held a public hearing and
approved an amendment to
the language of the Arden
Hills City Code to amend
and strike language in the
B-2, General Business
District and B-3, Service
Business District regarding
design standards for
building façade and setback
requirements relative to
front yard and parking
areas.
• Held a public hearing and
approved an application
for a minor subdivision
between the properties
located at 3300 New
Brighton Road and 1893
Beckman Avenue.
• Ordered a nuisance
abatement at 1465 Floral
Drive W. for excessive
vegetation growth not in
compliance with City
regulations.

Jessica
Jagoe
Promoted
to City
Planner
Jessica Jagoe has been employed
by the City of Arden Hills since
May, 2021. Originally hired
as Senior Planner, Jagoe was
promoted to City Planner at
the October 25 City Council
Meeting. Jagoe graduated from
MN State University, Mankato
with a planning degree in Urban
and Regional Studies. She
previously worked for the City
of Little Canada and Chisago
County. She is married with two
children and resides in White
Bear Lake.

Dong Hae Korean Grill & Sushi
2, located in Lexington Station at
3845 Lexington Avenue N. is the
newest restaurant to open in Arden
Hills. Dong Hae proudly serves
traditional Korean food, along
with tableside Korean BBQ and a
full sushi bar.

2 is owned by the Tae Kang family.
The original location in downtown
Minneapolis has been in business
since 2014. The family also owns
a Korean grocery store, Dong
Yang Oriental Market, located
in the Hilltop area, that features
Asian groceries and a counter
offering prepared Korean dishes.
