Walsh, Parks and Recreation Director ,/'/ SUBJECT: March Agenda Report Cross-walk Striping Discussion A representative from the Public Works Commission will be in attendance to discuss why the Public Safety Commission does not recommend that cross-walk areas (over streets) that connect two trails need to be striped for safety. The Parks and Recreation Commission and staff previously discussed the importance of striping for safety reasons. Having the street striped, provides a warning to vehicles that there may be pedestrians or bikers crossing the street. I am not aware of any cities that do not stripe cross-walk areas. as within the City str ed. There are I recommend that the we have all of the cross-walk are Y p currently eight areas within the City that are striped on an annual basis. We contract with • Ramsey County to have the striping done. Trail and Park Comprehensive Plan Thank you to all of you who took the time to attend the general planning session on March 18.
