AGENDA ITEMS TCAAP Anita is meeting tonight with the Arden Hills TCAAP Task Force. They are meeting vigorously. The Arden Hills Committee is planning on having a report ready for Bruce Vento by the end of August or the first part of September. Dorothy stated it could be a long time before TCAAP is cleaned up to use. Alliance Tech is still a concern, but the problem may be resolved by investing money in providing alternative locations for the Arden Hills facilities. Trail Systems Cindy distributed copies of New Brighton& Shoreview trail maps. Roseville, like Arden Hills, is still in their initial planning stages. Cindy will take our concerns about the trail crossing at Hwy 10 to the Hwy 96 Task Force Committee. Committee recommends\interested in exploring an under or overpass at the Hwy 10 intersection. The number one trail priority with the Committee would be the Floral to Hwy 96 route. The committee discussed developing a Comprehensive Trail Plan. A working plan was developed. A motion was approved to have Cindy talk with surrounding cities and Ramsey County about their possible connections to our trail system. Cindy will get our • working plan printed & discuss it with Council at an upcoming worksession. CITY OF ARDEN HILLS MEMORANDUM DATE: July 18, 1995 TO: Parks & Recreation Committee 1 FROM: Cindy S. Walsh, Parks & Recreation Director Cam' SUBJECT: Ramsey County Survey & Perry Park Redevelopment Bids Ramsev County Vision Survey Please take a few minutes to complete the survey enclosed. Representatives from the Ramsey County visioning Committee will be present at our July 24 meeting. Perry Park Redevelopment Bids The apparent low bidder is Veit & Company Inc. They were the contractor for the City of Mounds View's new golf course. I have contacted Mounds View & received a very good recommendation. The bid price including lights, irrigation, contingency& overhead is $363,323. Currently, the potential funding obtained for the project is: $123,800 grant money, contributions $200,000 Park Fund $ 17,000 Storm Water Management Fund (exact amount needed for storm sewer erosion control) $340,800 TOTAL This leaves an approximate deficiency of$20,000. In an attempt to raise $20,000, I have contacted some of our contributors to donate again in 1996. I have confirmed the following contributions for 1996: m Light Brigade $24,000 ($2,000 per month)) St. Mary's Romanian $10,000 Little Lakes Little League $ 2,500 Burlington Northern $ 2,000 $38,500 I am still attempting to raise additional money since the ADA accessible playground structure will cost at least $30,000. I am hoping that North Suburban Youth Association will contribute another $5,000 next year. We can discuss the project further on Monday, July 24. Please feel free to call if you have any questions.
