Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 9: 12 p ,m. , following a tour
of Village parks, by Chairperson Blomquist .
Rolil Call
Present: M. Blomquist, A. Anderson, J . Gebhard, S . Hughes,
S . Hustings, C . Kostishack
Absent: T . Glarros, C . Gr°udnoske, J . Moore, B . Schlotthauer,
R. Younoszal , D . Perlick
Also Present: Councilman Crichton , Parks Director J . Buckley
Mr . and Mrs . Stolp
Approval of Minutes
It was moved by S . Hughes, seconded by A . Anderson, that they
minutes of June " 3, 1976 be approved as mailed . Motion carried
unanimousilyo
• Vandalism near Inerson Park GWArr►
Mr. and Mrs . Stoop presented the problem they have been having
with destruction of their garden borrder3ng ingerson Park. The
Council had authorized J . Buckley to install a snow hence be-
tween the park and their property . They objected to the appear-
ance of the snow fence, and feyft that it was not a good solution .
They would (like a chain link fence . After a lengthy discussion,
It was mooed by D . Kostlshack, seconded by A , Anderson, that a
snow fence be kept on the park property, and a row o`= Russian
Olives be pl rated on the Stoop 's side of the fence , Motion carried
unanimously .
Budget Review
J . Buckley presented the proposed 1979 budget . Motion was made
by J . Gebhard, seconded by S . dustings, that the budges- be ap-
proved for submission to the Council . The capital Improvements
for 1979 were not discussed; this w1 'll be reviewed by the Committee
In August.
Arden Manor Report
J . Buckley reviewed with the Committee the problems that have oc-
curred because the ball field for this area Is so close to tF e
411 homes . Motion was made by D. Kostislack, seconded by S . Hughes,
that Comm tees recommend to Council that a chain link fencer te In-
stalled from the backstop 100 feet town the first base line and 100
feet down the third baso ! ne to prevent problems to the adjacent
homes , Motion carried ,unanimously .

Councilman Crichton reported that the Council had :
- approved the changes in the cap ) toi improvement fund outlined
in the June minutes .
- authorized J . Buckley to submit a Bikeway Grant appiication for
an improved pathway from Gierpaui to County Road E;, 6 feet in
width . Work will not begin unt i i 1979 .
denied J . Buckley °s request fron the School Dlstrdct to parti -
cipate in the renovation of the school district ball field and
hockey rink .
Public Relations
Chairman Blomquist fled a discussion about ways that the Parks and
Recreation Department could obtain more neighborhood input into
their plans for park development, and aiso education of neighbor-
hoods about the value of the projects being considered . Committee
members are asked to think about this, and bring suggestions to
the August meeting for further discussion .
