Buckley prepare minutes of the spec: tal April 17 meeting to be; Included with these minutes. • Bike T ra 3 1 Saab-Comm i ti tee Rig rt A conceptual plan for a complete .Village bike and/or walking trail was presentee to the entire Committee. Motion was made by D. Kostishack, seconded by R. Younoszal , that Committee recommend this plan to the Council , subject to confln"ous review by the Com- mittee as each portion of the trail is ready for construction . The Committee would like the bike trail along Lexington Avenue con- tinued from Cummings Park down to County Road D , the Village border . The motion carried unanimously. One point di :cussed at length by the Commit ee was whethar all the trails are tc: be considered bike trails, or whethsr some will be we, lking trails only . In some cases, the terrain , and the width of the path at this time of planning , seems to limit the use to walkers or pushing one' s bike. Anderscn presented a possible planning schedule for use in planning and development indicating the role of the Site Develop - ment Sub-Committee In the process . J . Moore suggested we p-epare a list of possible facilities to Include approximate costs and space needed . This could be used in aidingci tizens to Indicate preferences and priorities in development. J . Buckley and J . Moore are preparing this list. We discussed the need for the establishment of trails as quickly as possible. It was suggested that to enable raold development of trail systems and best use of avalrable funds we propose that paths witVin the parks ae initially wood chip surface and trails between parks be crushed time insofar as the budget will allow . Note: at $. 73 per foot, crushed lime on the power line corridor (east-west) from Old Snelling to east end of McClung property would cosT approximately $ 1 , 500. Request Cclmmittee _Action as Foilows : I . Accept guidelines for planning process ;, with or without re- visiors. 2. PossIole budget revisions : • a . Rovise development budget to spend move on pathways using crushed lime. b . Overate within our current budg:atj using chips to estab- t sh trails. 3.
