Call to Order
The meeting was called To order at 8 : C16 p .m. by Chairperson Blofiquist .
Roll Call

AU roval of Minutes
Motion was made by J . Moore, seconded by C . Grudnoske, that the
Minutes of February 14, 1978, be approved as mailed . Unanimously
approved.
Business from the Floor
Mr. McClung and Mrs Kopischke presented to the Committee their
proposed development p �; any . The Committee spent the remainder of
the evening discussing the philosophy of the trail system, and the
land needed in these `Cwo developments for the trail . Mr. and Mrs .
• Frank Sutor presented a s1-rorig objection to the trail running at the
back of their lot on Indian Oak's Trail , and suggested It run aBong
the street instead. Committee then discussed whether the trail must
be 50 feet wide at ali points ; j . Moire expressed the feeling that
it should be kept this wide, sinca all plans and Intents for -the traii
Nava not been determined , and at soma fu+ure ti the , more activities
migilt be wanted og the trEiil . Other Committee members felt that a
trail this wide at all spoi-s rn ght allow for undes ; rabla vehicles
and activities . J . Euckley said that at least 8 feet are necessary
for maintenance by Parks equipnia-at .
It was moved by T . GIE,ros , se;onded a-;y S . Hustings , that a 60 foot
width at the South anc up through Lot 29, up to -where 28 takes a cit
to the right, tapering down to a trail of 20 foot vidth at -the South
border between Lots 5 and 6 , and thi -S would end at the edge of our
access to the cul -de-Eac, go 20 deet wide across back of Lot 5 to
lot NIne of 4 and 5 , z,nd then go Norlzhw,-:�st to a jlrai I of 50 foot
width on the back of Lot 4 , with a I--) foot access -to the park betwaen
Lots 5 and 6 , w I th the I ar.6 to be t a iken from Lot 6 ?potion carried,
J . Moore opposed.
Committea then discussed the trail "-, rough the BrierknoIll Addition .
Motiron was made by T. Glaros 1-hat tho antire trail , East--West branc-h
and North-South branch be a 50 foot dedication as originally requested
( February 14th, Pa,,.-ks Comrflttee Minutes ) , and that we have a 5 foot

• Motion was made by T . Glaros that tht. road layout remain as it Is as
far as Floral Park is concerned , that there not be a further branch
of the road into the park . Motion was seconded by A . Anderson , and
unanimously approved.
Briarknoi i Deve`loGrment
it was moved by B . Schiotthauerr, seconded by C. Grudnoske , that
Outiot A not be considered as part of the developer' s park dedication .
Floral Park and the proposed park area selected on North Snelling
Avenue will meet the acreage requirement stated in the Comprehensive
Park Plan . if Outtot A is needed as a holding basin for storm water,
the Council should consider giving the developer credit when
determining the park dedication . Motion carried unanimously .
Oath of Office
C . Crichton administered the oath of office to Susan Hustings .
Volks March
J . Buckley explained more about -the folks March , called -the "Walk
fo•r, Life" In last month 's minutes . He requested Park Committee
members to help with this walk when it is laid out , being stationed
at various spots, on the trail to provide transportation back to
the starting point , and refreshments at some points .

• Due to the lateness of -the hours , ali other business was tabled
to -`he April meeting . 'lotion was :Wade by J . Moore, seconded by
C . Grudnoske that the meeting be adjourned at 10 : 35 p .m. Unanimously
approved .
