Park before the regular meeting. Tlaterested tourers should meet at

Minutes of Regular Meeting or Parks and Recreation Committee
Village of Arden Hills

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 8 :08 p .m. by Acting Chair-
person R. O'Toole.
Roll Call
Present : R. Curtis , T. Glaros, S . Hustings , R. O'Toole ,
B. Schlotthauer
Absent : M. Blomquist, C. Grudnoske , R. Lemke, J . Moore,
M. Weitzman
Also Present : Councilman C. Crichton , Parks Director J . Buckley
Approval of Minutes
It was moved by B. Schlotthauer ;, seconded by R. Curtis , that
the minutes of June 14 be approved as malled . Motion carried
unanimously .
Pianninq Commission and Council Report
• C. Crichton discussed the proposal an Insurance company has made
for an office building on the Jurgenson property, and stated that
the Council has approved rezoning the property to R-B, with a
100 foot buffer between that and the houses to the east.
He will bring the Park Departments ' request for a change In the
Comprehensive Park Plan to the Council elt its next meeting ,
the specific change to be requested is 1�or " 1 . b. Area #2 ( Lake
Johanna East) . Th s is the one neighborhood where it will be dif-
ficult to centrally locate one park site to serve the entire
area. However-, ones site of about eight acmes north of County Road
E coupled with the existing Freeway earl; and Lindeys Triangle
will cover about I000 people within 1 /2 mile. An additional site
of two to three acres will still be necessary toward the south
end of the neighborhood. "
Councilman Crichton also reported that negotiations for park fund
dedication or land dedication ate proceodinq with Karth Lake
Estates , Karth Lako Hills , and -the Bues ! ng property.
Plans for Floral Perk have been approved by the Council , and work
will begin the week of July 20.

J . Buckley reporte6' that le and R. O' Toole had met With Finance
• Committee representative '1. Men:ze to review the budget. After
complete review by the Committee , it was moved, by T. Glaros ,
seconded by R. Cur-?'- is, that the proposed budget be accepted by
the Committee. Motion carried unanimously .
The Budget Committee recot.,imended a Site Improvement plan of
$ 18, 300, if deaica-i- ion funds become availzible. First priority as
funds become availabla would b6 land acquisition , and site
Improvement if funds are available.
Adjournment
Motion was made by T. Glaros , soconded by R. Curtis, 1-hat the
meeting be adjourned at 10 : 10 p . m. Motion carried unanimously .
