The meeting was called to ordar at 8 :05 p . m. by Qairman
Anderson .
Roll Call
Present : R. Anderson , M. Blomquist , R. Cadwell , R. 07ocle
Absent: G. Beg in , M. Cronin , C. Grudnoske , G. McCauley,
D. Noyed
Also Present : Parks Director J . Buckley, Councilman Crichton

It was moved by R. O' Toole , soconded by W. Blomquist , that the
minutes of June 8. 1976 be approved as mailed .

Three residents from the Hazal Eau t area and three from the FlorY.
Park area attended the meelinj. Traffic flow plans ware the
• primary concern ; Hazelnut residents 00 Jerrold Ave. too short
to make a good entrance . Buckley explained primary parking would
be at the Trinity Lutheran Church parking lot; arrangements have
been made with the Church . Voral area residents were concerned
about adequate access Vrom Indian Oaks areas i and 2 . and what
first priorities were in park davelopment . lbuck !ey stated that
a ball field would probably have first priority at Floral Park,
and some shrub planting, grading , etc. A smail skating rink
would also be put In Koraj Park this winter.
It was moved by M. BlOmquist, seconded by R. adwell , that the
concept plans for both parks to approved , with the parking lot at
Floral Park located along Floral Drive. Unanimously approved -

R. Anderson requested that The completed book be ready for review
at the October meeting .

The budget sub-committee ( R. inderson , J . Buckley , R. GOToole,
M. 1310mquistj will present W proposed 077 budget to tic, com-
mittee for review at the AugnsT W regular meeting ,
Councilman Crichton reported that :
- Council approvod the renting W a car ior three months for
J . Buck ieyls use.
- Ordinance 193 (Prohibition of drinking in public parks ) was
initiated and passed at the greatest speed possible at the
request of the Public SaFety Committee to alleviate the
problems they uere experiencing at lorry Schmidt Park . He
reported that the Ordinaice has thus far been very effective .
Weed Removal A l=ake ichanna

The Lake Johanna Shore AssoclaVion has asked If Arden Hills would
pay part of the expenses Vor woed removal in Lake Johanna. Con--
sons us was that since ThG entire residency ol the lake is not
included, this would not be ai appropriate Parks Department
expense .
Cunminqs Park Proposed Dove lo)ment
The concept plans prep red by Megan Gange were roviewed by the
Committee. The Committee wouid 11kc to see the plan for the Amble
Road development . R. O ' Toole will investigate the possibility of
entering the park via Control Data ' s parking lot. A Buckley
stated that lirst priority fo - dovelopmert in the park will be
• spraying for poison ivy , secondly , plantinp the nursery and a
buffer area, and third , pi ant` ings on the Eouthern edge of the ball -
field .
Summer P—aram
J . Bucktey reported that this summer' s program of pre-schooler
piannec activity in the morn iiq, an chcol age children in the
afternoon has worked out very W ! , and resulted in more usage W
the parks .

The committee discussed whethar hascball leagues not originating
in Arden Hills should use Ardan Hills fields . it was moved by
R. OiTcola, zocondsd by M. Glomquisl , thet a survey be made of the
precedents set by other communities In the area .
