Roll Ca ! 1 Present ; Chairman Anderson, P . Blomquist, M. Cronin , C. Grudnoske, G. McCauley and R. O' Toole Absent: G. Beggin , R. Cadwell , D. Noyed Also Present: Parks Director J . Buckley Public Meetings on Park Concepts All Committee members are asked to attend the following neigh- borhood informational meetings : - Flora ! Park Neighborhood, Tuesday, March 9, 7 : 00 p .m. to 9 : 00 p.m. , Arden Hills Village Hail • - Lake Johanna Neighborhood ;. Thursday, March 11 , 7 : 30 p .m. to 9: 30 p.m. , Lake Johanna Elementary School . Site improvement Plans Site improvement recommendations for some of the parks were pre- sented by J . Buckley. Freeway Park Discussion resulted in a decision by the Committee to recom- mend deleting the $300 for wooden sliding platform, and add- ing picnic tables. It was moved by M. Blomquist, seconded by M. Cronin, that the plan be accepted as amended . Motion carried unanimously . Fire Barn Triangle thew Brighton Road) No action was taken. Ingerson Park The entire plan was .accepted by the Committee, with a recom- mendation that benches along the jagging path be added to the plan. It was moved by G. McCauley, seconded by M. Cronin, • that the plan be approved as amended . Motion carried unani - mously. R. O"Toole requested a Village map showing all parks, and further suggested this be included In the Town Crier. -2- L i n_dey ' s Corner _T_r i and • G. McCauley moved , seconded by C. Grudnoske, that the Com-- mit-iee tat le thtq action on Li,ndey ' s Corner until such time as the County gives the property to Arden Hills . Motion car,-led uranimously. Charles Perry P3rk Additions recommended -to the p € ar for this park include a sandbox, swi :ig , slide area ( $2 , 500' , horse shoe facilities in the hockey area in the summer, and adding crushed lime under the ice rink ( $2,000) . G. McCauley moved, seconded by M. Biomquist, teat the plan be approved as amended. Motion carried unanimously. Sampson Park Discussion resulted in deletion of the park light. A light has been approved by the Council for the area. It was moved by M. Cronin , seconded by R. O'Toole, that the plan be approved as amended . Motion carried unanimously . Valentine Park The Committee s:spressed a desire for a tree by the slide, and • the addition of two grills and a picnic Fable . A motion was made by M. Blomquist, seconded by M. Cronin , that the plan be approved as amended . Motion carried unanimously . Additional Site Improvement Expenses G. McCauley made a motion that a water fountain be Included in all parks in future development. The motion was seconded by M. Blomquist, unanimously approved . Five Year Park Ar,9u € r; Ition Plan R. Anderson presented the 1975 Addendum to the Five Year Park Ac- quisition Plan for Arden Hills. Line 2, page 2, " 180%" should be changed to " 148%", line 5, "$59,432 or 88%" should read "$64, 520 or 95%" . Under "Anticipated Land Dedication 1976" , Hunters Park" should be changed to "Dreyfus Organization" . "Twin City Christian Homes, 5 Acres" should be moved to 1977 , and total land dedication expected In 1976 changed to "5 acres" . G. McCauley moved tho plan be accepted as amended, seconded by M. Cronin . Motion carried unanimously . Proposed Improvement of Bike and Walkway System of Arden Hills G. McCauley presented this plan. Phase I consists of items the Committee desires completed as soon as possible, Phase 2 in from 0 10 -3- one to f i ve years , and Phrase: 3 f rorn one to ton years . Negotiate with the Railroad for a crossing from County Road E to Beths ! Seminary , and No. 9. Upgrade shoulders of County Road F between Lexington and Hamline. ) It was moved by G. McCauley, seconded by C. Grudnoske, that the plan be accepted with the, �bove amendments . Motion carried unanim.ously . Ad.1 ou rnment Motion was made by G. 'McCauley , seconded by M.
