Tuesday - April 14, 1970 - 8:00 p .m.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert Bjorndahl .
Present - Chairman Bjorndahl , Beggin, Boss, Cadwell , LaNasa, Lindbom
and McIntosh
Absent - Kuehn and Wallace
Also present - Council Liaison Ronald Herrick
A planting plan for Valentine Park was distributed and discussed. It
was decided to invite Peter Jacobson to the next meeting to discuss the
suitability of some of the trees recommended for the area .
Motion passed by the Committee that Phillippa Lindquist be recommended
to the Council as a replacement for Jackie Spratt, who has resigned
from the Committee. It was further suggested that Phiiliippa Lindquist
be asked to serve as secretary to the Committee .
Ronald Herrick reported that John Hollenhorst suggested that the Com-
mittee contact the Metropolitan Council to see if they might be interested
In acquiring some of our open space . This possibility will be discussed
further at the next meeting.
Motion passed by the Committee to recommend that the Village participate,
If legally possible, in the summer recreation program for mentally
etarded children which Is sponsored by the Roseville Recreation De-
artment and the St. Paul Association for Retarded Children . This
program is open to Arden Hills residents .
It was reported that Jackie Spratt had contacted a contractor in regard
to landfill that might be available for Perry Park. It was decided that
the kind of fill was undesirable, so should not be used .
Motion passed by the Committee that the Village purchase 6 picnic tables
to be used for park areas from the Belson Company . The tables have
wooden tops and seats which are fiberglass encased and have metal pipe
frames . They are 8 feet long . Order number DW-800 PR, cost $87.50
each - 1969 prices .
Motion passed by the Committee that the Village destroy the old house
on the Ingerson Park property .
It was reported that Banister Engineering Company wilt be doing a to-
pographical map of Perry Park very soon .
The next meeting will be May 119, 1970, at the home of Ruth Cadwell ,
1386 Skiles Lane, at 8:00 p .m.
