Village of Arden Hills
Tuesday - January 20, 1970 - 8:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert Bjorndahl .
Present: Chairman Bjorndahl , Boss, Cadwell , Kuehn, LaNasa, Lindbom
Spra i-t, Beggi n and Herrick
Absent: McIntosh and Wallace
The minutes of the November 18, 1969 meeting were read and approved .
All skating rinks are now in service . Ronald Herrick reported the
need for better lighting at the Mounds View rink.
Following discussion on the Perry Park site, Mr. Kuehn made a mo-
tion, seconded by Mr . Boss, to recommend to the Council that they
authorize the Parks and Recreation Committee to obtain a firm to
do necessary surveys and maps of Parry Park, so major grading can
be done in the spring; motion carried unanimously .
Banister Engineering Company has quoted a fee of $100 .00 per acre
to do the following:
1 . Topographic survey
2. Topographic plan
3. Topographic final plan
4. Grading plan
It was estimated that 14 acres would be the area needed for 2 base-
ball diamonds .
Three ( 3) pieces of tax forfeited land are to be acquired as park
area upon notice from the County . Mr. Philip Sampson has offered
to donate land to the Village . The property is adjacent to the
tax forfeited land on Lake Lane and the Pedestrian Trail .
Several boy scout service projects were discussed.
Decision to purchasa picnic -tables was held over pending further
study .
Ramona Lindbom made a motion, seconded by Tom LaNasa, to have Mr.
Jacobson do a landscape map of Valentine Park; motion carried unan-
imously .
Robert Bjorndahl wit ; consult with Dr. Witter concerning the work
needed at the Johanna Junior High baseball field.
Next meeting will be February 17, 1970 , 8:00 p .m. , at the home of
Jacqueline Spratt, 3208 Shorewood Drive .
