A Boy Scout, working for an award , has made twelve signs for the
Pedestrian Trail . In addition , some Girl Scouts have made and
donated twenty-four small and -two large signs .
Ramona Lindbom attended part of the symposium on Parks and Open
Space. In her report she said that conservation was stressed,
but in general the programs were not appropriate to the needs of
Arden Hills .
A petition was prepared and submitted by residents near the Co.
Rd . E playground area asking for year around playground facilities .
Their requests were itemized and include a fence around the entire
area, volleyball court , sandbox, tennis courts, and other appro-
priate equipment. This committee will get bids on a fence as soon
as possible.
Mr. Bernard Edmonds , St. Paul Superintendent of Parks, was contac �ed ,
and his advice was sought with regard to the planning and equipping
of Arden Hills Parks. We will send maps to his office for evalu-
ation , and he will have someone work on plans. His estimated fee
will be, he thinks, less than $ 100/park area . in view of Mr. Dale
Willie ' s failure to supply us with material as he promised , as
well as the high- cost of Midwest Planning ' s services, we feel this
may be a very welcome answer to our needs at this stage of park
development .
Our 1969 budget needs are due by July 1st, as well as the projected
budget for the next five years .
A full time Parks and Public Works Supervisor has been hired , his
salary to be divided as follows: 20% by P 8 R Committee; 80%
Public Works Committee.
A letter from Roseville was read asking support from Arden Hills
In their request to Ramsey County to buy a large piece of land and
develop it for an 18 hole golf course . The land , partly in Shore-
view , is bounded by Victoria and West Owassa Blvd . There was a
motion by Lanasa , seconded by Boss , to endorse their plan.
The next meeting will be June 18th , at 7 :30*, at the home of Tom
• Lanasa, 3153 Shoreline Lane.
