SUBJECT: Goals and Objectives of Parks and Recreation Committee

FUNCTION - The Parks Committee has served several functions over the past
and present time:
- Has been a good way of getting "feedback" from the neighborhoods and
residents.
- Has helped in determining the policies and goals of the Parks
Department regarding park and program development.
- Has been actively involved in planning parks, trails, and programs.
• - Has served as a lobbying group for the parks department when seeking
Council support for park and program development.
FUTURE FUNCTIONS OF THE PARKS COMMITTEE
- Securing and developing Twin City Arsenal Athletic Complex.
Complete the development of neighborhood pedestrian trails.
- Continue in the development of Crepeau Nature Preserve.
- Upgrade the development of older ark sites. Consideration for

upgrading parks should be done every 7 - 10 years.
- Continue with the parkway and community "gateway" beautification
• concept.
